Boosting Self-Esteem: Tips to Help You Feel Your Best

What is the definition of self-esteem or self-worth? It is how much you value yourself and what you think about yourself. Self-esteem is a critical piece of the mental health riddle. It's no secret that good self-esteem is essential for overall well-being. But sometimes, it can be hard to maintain high levels of self-esteem.  Luckily, you can do plenty of things to boost your self-esteem. Here are some tips you can start to incorporate to help to feel your best self:

1. Practice positive thinking. Self-esteem is all about how you think about yourself. Try to focus on the positive aspects of yourself and your life and work to replace negative thoughts with more positive ones (start with one idea at a time.)

2. Spend time with people who make you feel good. Spend time with those who make you feel good about yourself and support and encourage you.

3. Focus on your strengths and things that you like about yourself. Make a list of your strengths and use this list to remind yourself of your talents and abilities.

4. Set realistic goals. Set achievable goals and focus on making progress towards them. Don't forget to celebrate your successes, no matter how small you think they are.

5. Take time for yourself. Make sure to take time for some self-care, and take yourself on a date to do things you enjoy and that make you feel good.

Remember, negative mental chatter will not help you boost your self-esteem. Since our self-worth dictates what we think we deserve in life, it often leads to a self-fulfilling prediction, which can predict us well or poorly. You will only feel self-doubt, making it harder to explore love for yourself and others. There are certain expectations and perfection measurements, and there is a higher degree of disappointment. Instead, learn gentle conscious unconditional love for self and others and see how you can impact the world towards peace.
