Practicing Gratitude
You probably heard of practicing gratitude and all the benefits of this. I personally found peace within hard times by actively practicing gratitude. Sometimes my gratitude practice is strong, and some days can feel like a task. But one thing I am certain of is when I choose to be grateful, my stress level slowly declines and the clouds clear a bit and I’m able to think more clearly and the more I do it the easier it becomes. That also helps me to come to a solution that had me stressed in the first place.
There are many benefits of practicing gratitude here are my picked of the top six:
1. Gratitude improves mental and physical health. Studies have shown that those people who practice gratitude experience lower levels of stress, burnout and depression, better sleep, increased levels of happiness, and better overall health.
2. Gratitude boosts productivity and creativity. When you're grateful for the things you have, you're more likely to stay motivated and productive. Gratitude also helps you to think more creatively and help you find new solutions to problems.
3. Gratitude improves relationships with yourself and those around you. Showing gratitude towards others helps to build strong relationships, reduce conflict, and improve communication.
4. Gratitude leads to better decision making. Being grateful can help you to be more mindful and make better decisions, as you'll be more aware of the consequences of your actions.
5. Gratitude can help us increase our self-esteem and self-worth. When you show gratitude for yourself and your accomplishments, it boosts your self-esteem and encourages you to continue striving to reach your goals and dreams.
6. Gratitude creates a sense of purpose and internal sense of peace and happiness. And help you release negative emotions that you might be feeling from time to time. When you practice gratitude your brain starts to change in a positive way and starts to replace the negative thoughts and feelings for positive ones.
This month, let me encourage you to practice gratitude not just towards yourself but to others and invite your family members, friends and community to do the same.
